Every era brings forth its own Contemporary Art. For us, Contemporary Art is a multifaceted mirror of our time and our society with a particularly large scope for diverse, personal interpretations. In our international art gallery you will find Contemporary Art by selected international contemporary artists, including Alex Katz, Christo, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Julian Opie, Peter Doig and Thomas Ruff. Our portfolio includes editions, original prints and paintings as well as sculptures.
Contemporary Art reflects the current zeitgeist
It cannot be assigned to any art movement, style or technique. Contemporary art is contemporary art, especially visual art. Designed by contemporaries for contemporaries, considered relevant by curators, art historians and critics: This results in a common denominator for this broad field of art. Contemporary art stands for curiosity, but above all for diversity. Contemporary art encompasses all disciplines and art styles equally. Paintings, sculptures, photography and installations are as much a part of it as media, performance and video art.
Contemporary Art – Art without label
The terms contemporary art or contemporary art do not stand for a specific concept, artistic style or technique: the spectrum includes drawings, traditional etchings as well as painting – but also art forms that have only become established in recent years, such as media art or abstract metal sculpture. The materials used are correspondingly diverse: from wood, paper, metal, plastic or stone to video, PCs, milk or rice – to name but a few. In contemporary art, there are no limits to the artists’ creativity and eagerness to experiment.
The most important contemporary art artists
Pioneering artists with new impulses and artistic styles make up contemporary art. Pop Art of the 1960s, with its famous representatives Andy Warhol, Mel Ramos and Roy Lichtenstein, is one of the great art movements of contemporary art. As an art gallery specializing in contemporary art, we offer you selected works by contemporary artists such as Alex Katz, Christo, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Julian Opie, Peter Doig and Thomas Ruff.
