Werk iPad Drawing My Window. No. 281 - Do remember they can’t cancel the spring
David Hockney follows the course of the seasons through the window of his house in Yorkshire. The viewer experiences the passage of time through the eyes of David Hockney and the use of his iPad to create the drawings. The artist has said several times that he hopes that when people see his iPad drawings, they will enjoy them. In 2009, the artist David Hockney started drawing with his thumbs on his iPhone. The following year, when the iPad came out, he often started drawing with a stylus pen. “This medium had a big advantage because it is backlit and I could draw in the dark. I never had to get out of bed,” Hockney writes.
