Published by Achenbach Art Edition, Düsseldorf, for Victoria Insurance, Düsseldorf. Based on Richter’s large-format originals hanging in the insurance company’s headquarters, which are among his major works and which he named “Victoria I” and “Victoria II” as a reference to his client. The present sheet in the technique offset printing / offset lithography is the 1st edition from 1987, signed and dated in print lower right. The edition size is unknown, it is estimated 500 copies.

In 2003 a new edition of Victoria 1 and 2 was published whose sheets are also titled. The original edition from 1986/1987, which is also dated, is regularly sold at auction at a higher price than the later 2nd edition. In 2003 this re-edition was created, but due to lack of originality it rarely fetches more than 1.500 Euro at auctions. Victoria I in the original edition is regularly sold at auctions, among others at Ketterer Munich in 2015 for just under 5,000 €.
