Founded in 1998 by Job Smeets in the spirit of the Renaissance, the design studio Studio Job combines traditional and modern techniques and processes to produce unique design objects. Since 1966, Gufram has been a beacon of creativity for experimental designers who want to push the boundaries of traditional furniture. The most famous is certainly the coat rack in the shape of a green cactus. For SuperGufram, Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel designed a series of limited edition pieces, including a punching bag in an orange brick pattern, Punch a Wall. The hanging brick column was unmistakably designed by Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel of Studiojob. It is one of a series of six radically ironic sculptures somewhere between design, comics and art. Punch a Wall provokes, so that one strikes. The limited edition of only seven pieces worldwide was presented at Design Miami Basel in 2017.
