Flores Blue - 케니 샤프
The sculpture is flocked with a velvet-like material. This gives an intense and very dark, almost infinite effect of the blue color. For a long time, artists and scientists around the world have been researching the perfect blue. The most perfect because most intensive blue so far is the Yves-Klein blue. The idea is to make a smooth surface as rough as possible to reduce light reflections to a minimum. This results in a richer and deeper blue. Yves Klein experimented for years with the effect of velvety color surfaces. Yves Klein was the first artist to develop his own color and even patent it. Flowers or Flores are a recurring motif in Kenny Scharf’s work that appears in various variations.
