Swimmers – Shark is a print by US-american artist Katherine Bernhardt.  It features some of the artist’s signature bold colors and motifs: toilet paper rolls and sharks swimming through a dreamy, bubbly blue background. A response to Greenpeace’s “50 Years” campaign, this limited edition print addresses the environmental hazards that play a recurring role in Bernhardt’s work. David Zwirner had his first exhibition with Katherine Bernhardt in London on June 08, 2022. Over the past two decades, Bernhardt, who lives in St. Louis, Missouri, has established herself as one of the most sought-after painters working today. Her vibrant paintings offer contemplative and multifaceted reflections on various facets of everyday life and pop culture, from toilet paper and coffee makers to E.T., Darth Vader and the Pink Panther. She cites Henri Matisse, the Pattern and Decoration movement, Peter Doig and Chris Ofili as artistic influences.
